Abstract

The rising prevalence of dementia necessitates innovative approaches in healthcare and environmental design to enhance patient well-being. Biophilic lean design integrates natural elements and efficient spatial organization to create environments that support cognitive and emotional stability. This research explores the intersection of biophilic principles and lean design strategies to optimize dementia care settings, emphasizing the role of natural light, greenery, and sustainable spatial layouts. By reducing environmental stressors and enhancing sensory engagement, these approaches contribute to improved health outcomes for dementia patients while promoting sustainability in healthcare infrastructure. The study also examines the impact of technology in domiciliary care, integrating mental health support into occupational safety programs, and the influence of industrial management principles on healthcare sustainability. Findings indicate that the thoughtful application of biophilic lean design fosters a supportive, cost-effective, and therapeutic environment, aligning with global efforts to improve aged care standards.
